FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR COMPLETION?

Our pre-planned tiny homes are available for purchase anytime, anywhere. We follow Ontario Building Code standards, therefore if purchasing from another province, you may need to revise the plans as per provincial legislation. Once a plan is selected, you can choose to add-on the permit application service. We will apply for the permit at your local municipal office for you. This usually takes approximately 3 weeks, depending on the municipality and if you have zoning compliance. Custom plans take an additional one to two weeks, depending on the scope of work.

CAN I BUILD THIS MYSELF?

That depends on your experience and skill level, but our plans are sufficiently detailed that anyone with sufficient experience could build their own home from our plans.

CAN YOU BUILD THIS FOR ME?

We don’t provide construction services at this time since we are not registered with the Home Construction Regulatory Authority, a requirement to build a home for someone else in Ontario. Stay tuned for future updates on the topic.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BUILD A TINY HOME IN ONTARIO?

All of our plans are designed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code. There are many guidelines for each different type of tiny home. We take care of the legal regulations, so you don’t have to.

WHERE CAN I LEARN ABOUT THE TINY HOME COMMUNITY?

A tiny home is more than just a house, it is a lifestyle. They offer less financial worries and more time for adventure. Tiny home owners are a varied group, who offer support and comradery. We work closely with The Giving Tree and would highly recommend checking out her socials for more information on this growing community.

CAN A TINY HOME BE BUILT OFF-SITE AND RELOCATED?

Yes, if the builder has the necessary CSA approval for their factory and each model OR if the new provisions listed in the building code are satisfied, it is totally possible! Contact us to discuss specifics if this is interesting to you.
